Okay, when you think of diets you probably think of starving yourself to lose the pounds. I'm going to tell you why that is the worst thing you can do.
1.)While you might lose a few pounds by doing this, your body also losses strength. By starving yourself you deprive your body of the valuable nutrients it needs to function properly on a daily basis. This will make you unhappy and uncomfortable at the same time. After a while you will lose your will to continue with this plan.
2.)Your body will fight to hang onto the last fat gram that you have. Let me explain it simply. If your body doesn't know when it's getting it's next meal it will slowly process and hang onto the fat grams from your last meal. In turn, that slows down your metabolism. Our bodies are very smart, when we deprive it of food it goes into what I will call survival mode. That means your body will get the most out of every meal. Hanging onto whatever it was you ate last.
3.)You won't have the willpower it takes to sustain this type of diet, no matter how hard you try. We all know the saying. . . We want what we can't have. You'll see that piece of coconut cream pie, those freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, or for some of you, it might be a caramel frappacino from starbucks. You will stumble and hate yourself for doing it. Then you will start the whole process over again.
So the last thing you want to do is starve yourself. The best weight lose plan is to exercise, watch the things you eat, and eat in moderation. I tell people to eat several small meals (5 to 6) a day watching their portions. It's best to have breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, dessert. That's right, you heard me, dessert. Let's face it, if you can't have something sweet now and again you won't stick with a plan. Just remember, in moderation.
